Peer-Reviewed Studies

In line with peer-reviewed studies:

  • Inhalation of black pepper extract vapors reduces symptoms of bad habits.
    In this study, we examined the subjective effects of a substitute for a “bad habit” by diffusing vapors of black pepper essential oil. Forty-eight users participated in a three-hour session after one night of abstinence.
    Results: Craving reduction was significantly higher in the black pepper group compared to other control groups.

  • The effects of aromatherapy on cravings for bad habits
    To evaluate the effects of two inhaled essential oils (black pepper and angelica) on cravings, this study compared the effectiveness across different participant groups.
    Results: Black pepper reduced cravings more effectively than angelica, demonstrating greater efficacy.

  • The effect of sensory substitution on bad habits
    Current treatments for “bad habits” include sensory cues such as inhalation/exhalation of vapors or holding substitute devices. This study evaluated sensory substitution products to measure their effectiveness.
    Results: Sensory substitution proved to be significantly effective for breaking bad habits.
